The first thing I have to say here is... how I found my cake. I got engaged in February 2011 and I *love* to cook and I *love* to bake. And I love to decorate my cakes. I'm not as good as I'd like to be but I do OK. So... one of the first things I looked for after getting engaged was my cake. I wanted it to be Gorgeous with a capital G. And then I found a gorgeous 3-tiered cake with hydrangeas on the top tier - in pink and green with green ribbons and a green and white monogram. I had no idea where the bakery was located... it could have been in Utah for all I knew... I just knew that I wanted that cake with the hydrangeas on top (but not in pink and green.) Imagine my surprise and delight when I learned that the cake I fell in love with was created in Wilton, CT when I, too, am from CT. I called the Cake Boutique and spoke with Sonia. I ordered two sample cakes... one was a yellow cake with chocolate ganache filling and buttercream frosting and one was a chocolate cake with coconut buttercream filling and buttercream frosting. They were both to die for. We couldn't decide which cake to order so Sonia let us have two tiers in the yellow cake with chocolate ganache filling and one tier in the chocolate cake with coconut buttercream filling. We got married on the banks of the Connecticut River and my sister/matron of honor wore a navy blue Ralph Lauren gown. I wore a gown made specially for me by Modern Trousseau (Callie Tein) in ivory lace. We both carried bouquets with hydrangeas... mine was white with hints of green, my sister's was similar but had pansies in it to bring out the blue in her dress. And the cake was covered in white fondant with white hydrangeas with just a few green hydrangeas scattered around for added color. Sonia used navy blue satin ribbons around each tier and added a navy blue monogram. It was gorgeous - and delicious! I showed a photo of our cake to a few other cake vendors at wedding trade shows. They all "oohed" and "aahed" about the cake and they all said that they couldn't possibly make a cake that looked like that. I sure am glad that the Cake Boutique is located in Connecticut seeing as how I fell in love with the cake before I knew where the bakery was located. No one else could have made such a beautiful cake. The fact that it was delicious on top of being so beautiful was - dare I say it? - it was the icing on the cake! Ha!

Our wedding cake was absolutely perfect in every way! I gave the ladies at the cake boutique a simple idea and color scheme and they made a beautiful work of art that took all of my guests (and my!) breath away. They are such a pleasure to work with and will go above and beyond your expectations. I highly recommend using them for any function!

The wedding cake was provided by my reception venue, but I had a choice between the Cake Boutique and another provider. The girls at the Cake Boutique were wonderful and the cake was wonderfully moist, even a couple of months later!

the girls who own the cake boutique are 3 sisters who are all lovely and a pleasure to work with. you can tell that they love what they do, it shows in their work. we went for a consult and they gave us mini cakes to take home and sample in whatever flavors we wanted- they were delicious- the best wedding cake ive ever tasted (in particular the buttercream and fondant are delicious)our cake turned out AMAZING- it looked like one of the cakes you see on the food network shows. it was perfectly smooth and symmetrical and gorgeous. the cake boutique coordinated with my florist to get fresh flowers which cascaded beautifully down the front of the cake. everyone was commenting on how good it tasted and how pretty it was. i couldnt be happier with the cake boutique. it also was incredibly affordable and looked extremely expensive!

I began by emailing Sandra at The Cake Boutique and she got back to me right away. She was able to answer my questions quickly and could not have been nicer. I was able to book my consultation at a time that worked for me, without any problem. At the consultation I was given three 'mini cakes' of the various flavor combinations I was deciding between. I loved that it wasn't just one bite but that I could enjoy the cakes at home. They were all delicious! The cake turned out better than I expected and we received compliments on it all night! I was beyond thrilled that they created the cake just as I wanted! Also, the delivery was on-time and again easy to arrange. All the ladies at The Cake Boutique were friendly, helpful and professional. I highly recommend you use The Cake Boutique if you want a stress-free wedding cake experience with beautiful results.

They designed a style around the ideas I liked and the cake turned out to be exactly what I wanted and pictured for a wedding cake. I hated to cut into to it - it was perfect!
